Ver informe actualizado sobre lactancia materna y Covid-19 .
Tras la revisión realizada, observamos que, en general, en el caso de que la madre lo desee y su estado de salud y el del recién nacido lo permitan, se recomienda la lactancia materna (su inicio o su mantenimiento), aun en el caso de que se trate de una madre lactante con sospecha de COVID-19 o con COVID-19 confirmada(1-13).
No obstante, se ha de garantizar que durante la lactancia se mantengan medidas para la prevención de infección por microorganismos transmitidos por gotas y por contacto (fundamentalmente higiene de manos y mascarilla facial durante el amamantamiento).
